Madison 35 Productions


Together with music director Rob Taube, Dan and Gena have created The Madison35 Band consisting of some of the top musical talent in New York. With a vast repertoire of music that includes anything from classic rock, soul, motown and jazz, to top 40 and rap and an array of Jewish music from Israeli, traditional simcha to orthodox; Madison35 Band is the band that can satisfy all of your event needs and take your event to the next level.

Dan and Gena are experienced singers and musicians. Their onstage dynamic is infectious and can be seen in every aspect of their performance.


Dan is originally from South Africa, where he has worked extensively for the top wedding bands, performing in over 140 weddings and chuppas so far. 

 A featured vocalist at established venues in New York, London and Johannesburg, Dan has a background in musical theater and was educated at the Guildford School of Acting in London. After graduating, he toured nationally and internationally with the Carl Rosa Opera Company performing Gilbert and Sullivan (Pirates of Penzance, HMS Pinafore, The Mikado).  A soloist for over ten years with the Sydenham Synagogue Men’s Choir, Dan has studied voice with top vocal coaches including Richard Halton (UK), and currently Greta Damrau (NY).

His broad repertoire extends from classic American standards, jazz, rock and pop, to a wide range of traditional, Israeli and Orthodox Jewish music. A unique singer and strong front man, Dan Boruchowitz is a versatile, experienced professional.


Classically trained from a young age, Gena is an incredibly versatile and diverse singer. Educated at Penn State University, she originally performed as part of the musical theater program, beginning her career as a vocalist. She then went on to form her own 14-piece swing orchestra and toured across the US with a successful rock band for 4 years.

With the ability to sing everything from Ella Fitzgerald to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, Gena has a remarkable sound and her warm personality is strikingly magnetic. Fluent in Yiddish with a background in songwriting and traditional Jewish music, she has had vast experience singing at events, functions and parties across the east coast.

Always a professional, Gena is a talented, creative musician and a fundamental part of the Madison 35 Band.

An accomplished musician and performer, Rob Taube started out in the 1980s backing country greats like Merle Haggard and Hank Williams Jr. before moving to New York and pursuing a prolific career performing and producing original music. Rob is a talented guitarist, pianist, singer, musical director and producer, who has brought his skills and experience to Madison35. An award- winning songwriter with two records on Avid Records to his credit, Rob loves playing live gigs with Madison35 and being a part of joyous celebrations and events.
At the tender age of 9, Chris knew that he wanted to become a performer. Along with being able to play his acoustic guitar, Chris realized that he was able to create a bigger and better impression for his audience with his expressive voice. Chris is also a song writer and producer and has performed on stages like the Amateur night at the Apollo, where as part of a quartet, was first place winner in 2000 and was able to land a major deal with Arista Records.  Chris has also worked with producers such as Jermaine Dupri, Brian Cox, Baby Face and many more. He has performed as a lead vocalist in 5 piece party bands on Celebrity and Princess Cruises in Florida. Chris did vocal production on the Independent Musical Show “Love, Life and Happiness”. Chris is excited to be working with the Madison35 Band.

Mark Sganga’s finger style guitar weaves a rich tapestry of beautiful melody, dynamic rhythm, & imaginative improvisation. Fusing influences from South America & around the world, Mark creates an entrancing travelogue, as an instrumentalist and a singer/songwriter.

The 2009 winner of The Int’l Finger Style Guitar Championship, Mr. Sganga has enthralled audiences from Stockholm to Kuala Lumpur. He recently headlined at the Cape May Jazz Festival in New Jersey, & last year at the Thredbo jazz festival in Australia. Mark has appeared in NYC at Iridium, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, & S.O.B.’s, to name just a few. Sganga has toured & recorded with Indian violin virtuoso Dr. L. Subramaniam (alongside Larry Coryell & Herbie Hancock.) Mark’s performed all over the US, including a Santa Cruz, CA concert opposite the legendary Taj Mahal.

Sganga & his group regularly support Bergen county’s food rescue charity “Table to Table” playing fundraisers at Alpine CC, Café Panache & Florentine Gardens. In 2008 Bergen Health & Life Magazine voted The Mark Sganga Trio “Best Jazz Group”

Eric Nicolas is a singer, songwriter, musician and bandleader based in New York City.  He has toured the world with numerous major recording artists and performs widely with his own band.  Two CDs of his original music, "Amnesty" and "The Water Wheel," have met with critical acclaim.  A graduate of Brown University, he has been working exclusively as a performer, session player and sideman, teacher and recording artist since 1990.
A drummer, percussionist, singer and who found his first musical expressions in the tonal arts of the drum.  He has studied in the master/student discipline for most of his adult life with such notables as Chief Bey (shekere and bell), Babafeami (Conga), Nana Vasconcelos (berimbau and caxixi), Little Ray Romero (timbales), and Mbemba Bangoura. (Djembe).  Hasan has performed with a number of artists includingThe Winard Harper Sextet, Madonna, Snow, Hassan Hakmoum, Zimbabwean Mbira Master Ephat Mujuru, Salieu Suso,Abdullah Ibrahim and Ekaya, The Meditations, Veiux
Diop and many more.   As a composer, this 1998 Ethnic Dance Award Recipient has penned a collection of works for dance and the media arts, with a co/writer credit on the film, “Brooklyn Babylon”.

Kenny Shanker is a saxophonist, pianist, vocalist, and award-winning composer. He grew up in Pleasanton, CA and began playing piano when he was two years old. Of Kenny, Grammy Award-winning producer, Jeff Jones has said that “he taps into a universal soul with his playing. . . . With fluidity and ease, he can capture the heart and mind of the many. He is a classic.”

Kenny won an ASCAP award for composition, and wrote music for the soundtrack of the independent film, Out of the Fog. His first album, Steppin’ Up, was released on September 6, 2011 on Posi-Tone Records. Todd Barkan, Programming Director at Jazz at Lincoln Center, hailed it as “a masterful recording with a tremendous amount of heart and soul.” All About Jazz called it “impressive” and “immediately enjoyable, with enough twists and turns to reward repeated listening.”

Kenny has performed with the New World Symphony, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, R&B singer, Shannon (“Let the Music Play”), David Benoit, Shelly Berg, and many others. He has also played the national anthem for the Oakland Raiders and the Golden State Warriors and toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, South America, and Japan.  Locally, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, Smoke, The Garage, The Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center, and most recently, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola.


Mr. J. has worked in the R&B HipHop, Jazz fusion & Latin Crossover scenes. He is currently working on new original music and manages his daughter Melissa "MJ" Jimenez's career. He records with artists and producers from different parts of the world and leads the Somethin'Special Orchestra. His recording gigs vary from producing music or vocals to writing or co-writing, particularly song lyric’s concepts in Spanish. Mr J does regular freelance work with several bands as a band leader or on acoustic & electric guitars, bass, drums, percussions or as a lead singer. He also gives private lessons and coaches music performance.

He works in the New York and tri-state areas and from time to time he plays other types of music with his Greek, Jewish, Italian and brothers from all over the world.

Mr J enjoys providing that flavorful Latin influence that all music needs.
